Baked Sweet Potato Recipes

Food, wonderful food! With people all over the world coming out with new recipes everyday, it’s a wonder that simple vegetables can be cooked in so many different ways. You can bake, fry or steam and thus get a new dish everyday. All it needs is patience and a yearning to try out new recipes. These baked sweet potato recipes is one of the articles of a never ending list of recipes.

Delicious Baked Sweet Potato

Ingredients:

  • Sweet Potatoes - 6 (unpeeled)
  • Kosher Salt - ½ tsp
  • Black Pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • Unsalted Butter - 6 tbsp

Method:

  • To begin, heat the oven to a temperature of 400 degree F. Now take each potato and pierce each several times using a fork.
  • Next take a rimmed baking sheet lined with foil and put the potatoes on it. Bake the potatoes until they turn tender. Now take the sweet potatoes out and make a slit in the top of each potato. When that is done, top with 1 tablespoon of butter and add salt and pepper as seasoning.

Spicy Baked Sweet Potato

Ingredients:

  • Sweet Potatoes (cut into French fries) - 6
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Cajun Spice Mix - 3 tbsp

Method:

  • Preheat the oven to a temperature of 400 degrees and then place the cut potatoes in a bowl. Now toss the potatoes with the oil and then add the Cajun spice and toss again so that the potatoes are well coated.
  • Next take a cookie sheet that has a sheet of parchment paper on it and place the fries. Bake the sweet potatoes for 30 minutes and then turn them over. Bake again for another 30 minutes until they turn crispy on the outside and tender inside. Serve the baked sweet potatoes hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Tasty Baked Sweet Potato

Ingredients:

  • Sweet Potatoes (cut into French fries) - 6
  • Canola Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Taco Seasoning Mix - 3 tbsp
  • Cayenne Pepper - ¼ tsp

Method:

  • To start making this recipe first preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Then take a plastic bag and in it mix the potatoes, oil, seasoning and pepper. Now close the plastic bag and shake well until all the fries are well coated.
  • Next take the fries and spread them out in a single layer on two large baking sheets. Bake the sweet potatoes for about 30 minutes or until they turn crispy and brown on one side. Once that is done, use a spatula to turn the fries and cook for another 30 minutes. Enjoy!

Sugary Baked Sweet Potato

Ingredients:

  • Sweet Potatoes - 8
  • Orange Juice - ¼ c
  • Butter (melted) - 3 tbsp
  • Salt - ¼ tsp
  • Cinnamon (ground) - ¼ tsp
  • Brown Sugar - 1 tsp

Method:

  • Heat the oven to temperature of 350 degrees. Then take the rinsed and dried sweet potatoes and place on a baking sheet. Bake the potatoes for about 55 to 60 minutes. Once the potatoes are ready, take them out and cut them in half lengthwise.
  • Next use a spoon to scoop out the pulp from 8 halves and put them into a bowl. Discard the skins and then scoop out pulp from the remaining halves. Ensure that you leave ¼ inch potatoes intact to make the shells.
  • Now take an electric mixer and use it to beat the orange juice, potato pulp, cinnamon and salt until a smooth mixture is obtained. With that done, put this mixture back into the saved shells. Take the stuffed potatoes and sprinkle some brown sugar and butter over them. Bake the stuffed sweet potatoes for about 10 to 15 minutes until the potatoes are heated well.

Simple Baked Sweet Potato

Ingredients:

  • Sweet Potatoes (washed) - 6
  • Butter - ½ stick
  • Vanilla Extract - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - ½ tsp
  • Pepper - ¼ tsp
  • Pecans (chopped) - 1/3 cup
  • Cream Cheese (room temperature) - 8 ounce (1)
  • Brown Sugar - 1/3 cup

Method:

  • After you preheat the oven to 450 degrees bake the sweet potatoes for 45 minutes. While that is being done mix the cream cheese, vanilla, brown sugar, butter, pepper, butter and salt in a bowl.
  • Once the potatoes are ready take them out of the oven and let them cool. Now slice the potatoes lengthwise and scoop out the flesh leaving a ¼ inch of flesh on the skin. Next mix the removed potato flesh with the mixture. After adding the pecans place the mixture back into the potatoes and reduce the oven to 350 degrees. Next bake the stuffed potatoes for 15 minutes and serve it hot.
